Blackjack Rules
Blackjack RulesBlackjack is one of the simplest casino games to learn to play, and it's also one of the fastest casino games to play which could be good or bad. Money is made and lost very quickly in this game, so it's important to have a steady bankroll and you can't get caught up in losses when they happen. If things aren't going your way on a given day in blackjack, then it probably won't change for that day and you should stop trying to minimize your losses. Now let's look at the simple black jack rules that you will need to follow in order to play blackjack.
The first thing you have to do is place your bet which you simply place on the betting box in front of you. Make sure the chips are in a stack and that the chips go from highest value at the bottom to lowest value at the top. Once everyone has made bets around the table the dealers start left and face two cards face up at all with one of the dealer cards being face down though.
Starting with the player who was dealt the first card the dealer will ask if they want to hit or stay. You may also have the option to double down or split pairs which we will discuss later in this blackjack guide. Once everyone is done making there plays the dealer has to flip over their card face down to see what their hand values. Next if it's less than 17, the dealer needs to hit there cards automatically until they have reached 17 or 21 or nothing in between. If I hit you a natural blackjack, which is an ace and any card with a value of ten, then you automatically win the hand and you get 1.5 x your initial bet, which means that if you had bet $20 you get back plus $30.
The goal in blackjack is to beat the dealer only and you don't need to worry about another player's hands. You need to be closer to 21 then the dealer is without going over. If the dealer goes over 21 which is also known as a bust, you automatically win the hand and the same goes for if you bust then the dealer automatically wins. You generally want at least 17 or higher before you excel because any lower then is too low in blackjack. If you have a 15 or 16 and you think the dealer is going to bust then you might consider slitting and hoping the dealer busts.
Once the dealer's hand is over the dealer will go around the table paying off all the players who won out and taking the chips from the players who lost the hand. After the dealer is made to pay everyone and taking everyone's chips losers will loudly place another bet in the new hand's betting box. Continue doing this until you have finished playing or money.
Blackjack is an easy game to play and you can get assistance from other players at the table as well as the dealer. If you are not getting a bit lucky and hitting cards though then playing blackjack could turn into a real long day. There's luck in this game and you'll need some of it to make money, but on a good day when the cards are hitting you could walk away with hundreds or even thousands in winnings.
